started on my bro's rail. went to fit the seats and he wont fit under the roof bar and was looking over the windsheild frame.so out came the sawsall and tubing knotcher.we lifted the front of the cage up 7 inches and put it back together.double walled all the joints and then added the x and front cross bar.should start welding tabs for lights and other things next weekend.we have a plasma cam and a brake at the shop so we can cut and bend our own tabs and brackets.

there a few advantages to being short after all!! LOL....not to mention that it limits the people that want to "take your rail for a spin" when they are eating their knees when they climb in!!

if we used the old seats things would have been fine, but he bought the taller polly seats, my brother is close to 6ft. also makes a difference how the seat mounts. there are bars welded on top of the chassis tubes and the seat sets straight up.

Yup, the fiberglass backbreakers mount low, and some have quite a lot of lean to them. Any real seat will be much taller.
I have APC Racing seats in my buggy. They are mounted about 2" below the frame and have a lot of lean to them. At 6'1", I barely fit, but at 6'0" my father has a lot of room.
My frame was built by XTC with the cage raised 1.5" over stock.
Can you post up a side-profile of the competed car?

Berrien normally offers a 3" higher cage as an option on most of their frames....
