so this idea sparked from the "testing area" conditions discussions....between all the standing water, and the ever-changing peaks, i thought a current conditions thread would be helpful for people to update as they go.  give people a heads-up on what to expect day-to-day.

so post your real-time reports.   Cool

Well, for one thing there are alot of drop offs all over so just be careful with speed.

rained thrs at the dunes for about 45 minutes.. the water levels are retreating some...

the wind changed to sw and about 15 mph late today.. the peaks were starting to get fun.. but there was still 50'+ of flat at the tops.....

enjoy tomorrow.. more sw winds.. we'll see ya thrs.

anyone local know what the conditions are going to be like on Saturday? 5/2/09?  wet? dry? smooth, choppy?

Just got back, it's drying up still wet in spots. Not too choppy, sand is a little firm so holding tracks in spots.

I was up there the first weekend in August and the Drag strip on the Dunes was a lake.  Does anyone know if it still ike that.  We are going back up the last week in August 28-30.

might want to re think that......  Have seen people break collar bones that way, and some of them spots are very deep.

Just to give everyone a heads up, the last hill closest to the exit, right on the end closest to the parking lot there is a crater in the back side of the hill. I saw some guy flip his quad comming off of it.

Yeah I saw a lifted blazer hit it hard.  Not sure how he didn't roll.
