This truck was in really good shape for it's age just a year ago.  All the filters , diff covers, trans, t case, oil , fuel etc are all dated Aug 08.  I can't figure out why it was decomissioned.  Someone robbed a lot of parts off it and then threw all the junk in the back of this one.  They even took the seat and tossed in the junk one.  There is only 23,000 miles on the truck.  Someone robbed minimal parts from the engine.  Then the real damage, the military uses a fork truck to move all of these around the yards or to load them onto a trailer etc.  The most common damage is a wasted driveshaft, which happened to this one.  Fortunately I don't see any other drivetrain damage except the brand new tie rod because they picked it up from the front and bent that bar real bad.  Then ther is a lot of damage from the fork truck ramming into the side of it.  But, I'm only after the frame and drivetrain anyway, if it was a nice truck I wouldn't be taring it apart.

Best part, the frame is muddy but mostly still black  usa2

Worked on it some this morning.  Just went out a little bit ago to prep the engine to pull.  Should have that out of the way tomorrow night.

Pulled the engine tonight.  If anyone knows of someone that needs a 6.2 diesel.

Must have come from a warm dry climate, what are your plans again. I think I remember reading somewhere about them but are you planning on putting the blue trucks body on this frame and axles?

That's the plan.  So I'll have a cleaner one ton frame with extra military bracing and the dana 60 front axle has a limited slip , rear 14 ff axle has detroit locker.  4:56 gears.  In comparison to rebuilding my 3/4 ton axles I have a whole truck and what I want anyway.  Can't wait to get it down to the frame.

I sure want to but I don't think it will be in my budget.  I have a lot of projects going on and was considering selling the blazer to help build and engine but I don't think I can.  The problem being my frame will definitely be ready by spring and I can't put my current engine in the rebuild the way it is.  The biggest thing that bothers me about that truck,  I put it in without cleaning it up because I thought I would have a built engine in it by now.  Sigh.

yeah, I hear you! Are you going to do anything with the suspension? Coils or stick to the leafs. That would be the one thing I would change if I did it over would be suspension and of coarse more motor
